My kids ran into the Crown Arborists crew on our walk home from school and they stopped to explain how the truck works, gave them a demo (complete with ear plugs!), and took time to explain what an arborist does and answer many questions with patience and kindness. Scott and Crew were incredible to work with, very fast and careful in helping us remove a large tree that had split and at risk of falling right next to our house. Their boom truck helped them easily reach the tree and easily, quickly, and safely cut the large tree. It was a much more comforting method for me as homeowner vs the other fellas that came by to see and who were going to use a ladder and pole saws. Crown also had a wood chipper that got rid of all branches and debris, and they blew away all sawdust before leaving - ace clean up, it looked better than before they made the mess cutting down the tree! They left the firewood on site for us to move and use ourselves, but did offer to take it away if we didn’t want it. We had a big, sick tree, that had become pretty unsightly, and had branches both above and below the power lines in front of our house. We were quoted ridiculous "we don't really want to do that" prices from other companies for the removal, but Crown: * gave us a reasonable price. * showed up with enough people to do the job efficiently * had (or had access to) the right equipment to do the job - bucket truck and later a crane to take the main trunk away. * cleaned up REALLY effectively - anyone who wasn't working on the tree was busy picking up sticks or raking - our front yard looked better after they were done than before. * had people who were clearly skilled at their jobs and took pride in their work - a) They were able to navigate all the branches down with no concern about power shut-down, and b) I loved the little smile on the guy with the big chainsaw when he cut through the last little bit of the trunk and saw that he'd met up with his own starting cut smoothly. * were really friendly, organized and easy to talk to about the job. The only minor negative was a bit of delay in scheduling correspondence, but I can't entirely fault that, when I realized that the guy I was communicating was getting married later that week! At the first meeting Scott provided useful advice and a reasonable quote. On the workday, he and his crew of two arrived as scheduled and began work immediately. They worked very well together, calmly, efficiently, and safely taking down the three trees we needed removed, and trimming other trees and shrubs in our little urban forest. They used a combination of climbing and, where the trees were accessible, their boom truck to safely cut and trim the trees. They cut to the requested length and neatly stacked all the wood that we wanted to keep.
